Odell Beckham said in an interview published this

: liny195 @ 28.10.2019, 11:38
week that he believes Giants coach Pat Shurmur is the reason Beckham was traded from New York to Cleveland. Shurmur was surprised to hear that.Asked today about Beckhams comments Christian Kirksey Color Rush Jersey , Shurmur seemed taken aback, saying, Im the reason? Is that what he said?Shurmur said he did his best to talk to Beckham about the trade but wasnt able to reach him.I really dont have any reaction, other than I know when the trade was made, we felt like we went through it in a professional way, Shurmur said. He was out of the country at the time when it happened. We made efforts to get in touch with him and I know Dave [Gettleman] actually did speak to him. And I made efforts to get in touch with him https://www.brownsfanshop.com/JC-Tretter-Jersey , both through phone and text, but he was out of the country. But listen: Ive said it all along, were hopeful he can go to Cleveland and help them win football games and play good football.Shurmur and Beckham never seemed to get along in New York, and so it would not be surprising if Shurmur was pushing for Beckham to be traded. And although Shurmur seemed surprised Beckham feels that way, nothing in his statement really denies that he wanted Beckham out. Players from the Alliance of American Football were given the green light to sign with NFL teams on Thursday and eleven of them have found new homes already. The Panthers have shown the most interest in players with experience in the short-lived league. They signed wide receiver Rashad Ross on Thursday and then added three offensive linemen on Friday. Brandon Greene, Parker Collins and Kitt OBrien will all try for an extended stay in Carolina. The Steelers and Vikings have each signed two players from the short-lived league. Defensive back Jack Tocho and offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer landed in Pittsburgh while the Vikings added San Antonio Commanders teammates Derron Smith and Duke Thomas to their secondary.Browns quarterback Garrett Gilbert Ozzie Newsome Jersey , Broncos cornerback DeVante Bausby, Washington defensive end Andrew Ankrah and Chiefs cornerback Keith Reaser have also jumped leagues this week. Given the space on rosters around the league and the chance to look at players in offseason programs as they continue to get underway around the league, there will likely be more to come in the next couple of weeks.

As always, everything from training camp should be taken with a grain of salt. There are some things that just dont mean all that much in camp, because the opportunity to have guys at full go is infrequent. The true litmus test of all these players will come during real game action, where some of the camp standouts tend to fade. There has been one player Ive been watching so far that I dont think will fall victim to that fate, however.Rookie WR Parris Campbell has been having exactly the kind of camp the Colts hoped he would--looking good on offense with a slew of highlight plays, saying and doing the right things, and making himself a hit with the fans. On a roster whose starting lineup is all but set, there is little more that you could ask for than what Campbell has given so far.Lets start with the on-field play. Campbell is such a smooth player, making fluid direction changes and getting out of his breaks with ease. It is a little deceptive, because he is incredibly fast, but that speed sneaks up on you a bit. He is a far better route runner than perhaps he was given credit for.Ask CB Jalen Collins, who got burned during 1-on-1 drills at the goal line by a slippery move from Campbell.Nothing about the move said speedster. He simply looks like a solid route runner. Perhaps the best part? The toe tap finish. The Colts would love to see Campbell put his known skill set to work. Getting a solid contributor in the screen game and in yards after the catch would be a huge addition to this offense. However, it would be a mistake to believe thats all he has to offer. Additionally, it also doesnt hurt that Campbell is building quality relationships on the team and speaks honestly and humbly about expectations. Most indicative of that might be the way he was spoken about by star receiver T.Y. Hilton. Heres what Hilton said came to mind when asked about Campbell at the start of camp:Hilton laughed when talking about it, and showed every indication that he was truly impressed by the young receiver both in terms of his work ethic and his drive. That speaks volumes coming from a player who was painted with a bit of the same brush as Hilton coming out. Hilton was labeled as the speedy deep threat player and not much else. He has managed to make himself into one of the best receivers in the NFL, and linking up with a great mentor in Reggie Wayne was a big reason why. Now follow that up with Campbells statements at camp on Friday:This mentality is exactly the kind that can help a young player grow. Humility, the hunger to be better, and the willingness to seek out help are traits that, when paired with the raw ability of someone like Campbell, can make big things happen in a hurry. The Colts have said the plan is to work Campbell primarily out of the slot until he develops some mastery there. That is perfect, because it allows him to do what he is most comfortable with as he grows and expands his skills as a player. Frank Reich didnt hedge when talking about the rookies performance at the end of their first set of 4 practices during which Campbell had two touchdown grabs. There were many who just werent sure Campbell could do more than be a screen guy. He wasnt asked to do much beyond that at Ohio State https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Andrew-Luck-Jersey , and that left too many unknowns for some scouts to be comfortable with. Through the first quarter of training camp, what he has put on the field is as good as the Colts could have hoped for. Another thing that has been impressive about Campbell is his interaction with the fans. One of the things that set Reggie Wayne apart was his willingness to engage with his fans and it quickly endeared him to the Colts faithful. As I stood in the media scrum on Friday after camp, waiting to hear from Campbell, I couldnt help but be impressed by his willingness to speak with and sign autographs for as many fans as came up to see him. I couldn't tell you for certain how long he was at it, but a Colts staff person had to finally go get him so that he could do his scheduled media availability. While that undoubtedly irritated some who were on a deadline to submit stories, it spoke volumes about the player. Fans are the reason all this exists, and Parris Campbell took time to engage with them. Hopefully there will be kids looking back in 20 years on that experience and remembering with awe the time they got to talk to a Colts legend in the making. Is that how this story unfolds? It is too early to tell. But if youre asking me what I think? The Colts have a star in the making. Their 174-98 record is the third-best winning percentage in football behind New England and Pittsburgh, and their four AFC Championship appearances are second to the Patriots 12.While its success is undeniable, Indianapolis has had one glaring, consistent shortcoming since the early 2000s: its rushing attack. In 17 seasons, the Colts have finished with roughly the 23rd-best run total in the regular season. Theyve ranked below 25th three times as much as theyve finished at 16th or higher, and their best finish was 15th in 2005. Even though they finished the 2018 regular season on a hot-streak with several strong rushing performances, their 1,718 yards still finished just 20th in the entire league.Knowing how critical the a strong run game is to the success of an organization, its no surprise the Colts want to break away from their poor stretch of rushing performances. GLENDALE Germain Ifedi Color Rush Jersey , Ariz. The Seattle Seahawks got a victory but lost an embittered Earl Thomas with a fractured leg.The Arizona Cardinals remained winless but had to be encouraged with the performance of rookie quarterback Josh Rosen in his first start. It was a mixed bag for both teams but the Seahawks came away with the victory Sunday when Sebastian Janikowski, after two earlier misses, kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired for a 20-17 victory over the Cardinals, who fell to 0-4 for the first time since 1986, two years before the franchise moved from St. Louis. We ran the ball for over 170 yards, which is fantastic, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. Mike Davis ran like crazy. He gave us a great effort on a day when Chris (Carson) couldnt go.Thomas sustained a lower left leg fracture while defending what turned out to be the game-tying touchdown pass from Rosen to Chad Williams in the fourth quarter.Obviously frustrated, Thomas made an obscene gesture toward the Seattle side of the field as he was carted off.Thomas had been embroiled in a contract squabble with the Seahawks, skipping some practices to show his ire. His teammates understood his frustration. Its an unfortunate part of the business, Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner said. If he doesnt come back, hes not a team guy. If he does come back, he gets hurt and they say he shouldnt have come back. Its a crazy business that were in.Rosen, meanwhile, was impressive in his starting debut, completing 15 of 27 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown with no interception. He had several passes dropped.I thought he played fantastic, said teammate Larry Fitzgerald, who uncharacteristically dropped a couple. I didnt do him any justice by making plays for him Marshawn Lynch Color Rush Jersey , but I think he stuck in there and made some wonderful plays, some great throws. Here are some things to consider from Seattles victory over Arizona.ROSENS DAYRosen said he had a couple of scrambles out of the backfield that kind of got me in the flow of the game a little bit in the sense of like, I belong here.He said he felt more comfortable as the game went on and was at his most effective completing three big passes leading to his 22-yard TD toss to Chad Williams to tie the game at 17-17.Again, his poise showed up, coach Steve Wilks said. Total control over that whole drive.JOHNSONS PROGRESSFinally, David Johnson began to look like David Johnson. The Arizona running back topped 100 yards from scrimmage. He rushed for 71 yards in 22 attempts, including a 21-yard run, and caught three for 41 yards, including a 30-yard screen pass on Arizonas game-tying TD drive. But Johnson gave himself poor grades.I dont know about the other guys, but Im very disappointed in myself, he said. I had a lot of mental errors, man, and I didnt do enough to help out the team.KICKING WOESJankowski and Dawson are two of the most experienced kickers in the business, but they each missed twice. No excuses, Dawson said. I go out there whenever Im told to go out there, and its my job to put the ball through the posts. And twice today, I didnt do that.Dawson missed a 45-yarder that would have given Arizona the lead with 1:50 to play. Seattle drove downfield Earl Thomas III Color Rush Jersey , with no timeouts, to set up Janikowskis winning kick.INJURED SEAHAWKSThomas wasnt the only Seattle player to be injured.Rookie tight end Will Dissly was carted off in the first quarter with a patellar tendon injury.Theres nothing we can do but send love to them and build them up and all that, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. Some of it by his own making, and some of it exaggerated by the media. When youre arguably the best receiver football and have a larger than life personality which you express on social media as often as Brown does, the kind of coverage you get is somewhat understandable. With his very vocal exit from Pittsburgh this offseason, along with dying his mustache blonde and putting out multiple videos demanding he be paid what hes worth, he became quite a punching bag, especially from Pittsburgh media. So, when Brown was placed on NFI to begin camp, he wasnt treated like any other player who had an injury. He was treated like here we go, its AB being AB and that continued with every detail that was revealed about his injury. While most players would receive sympathy for suffering injuries to his feet, somehow Brown was fair game to be laughed at and ridiculed for it.In fairness to some, it was a bizarre injury. Frostbite? On his feet? From a cryogenic chamber? Wut?Then while were all waiting each day to see if and when he will return to the field, its revealed that he has a grievance with the NFL about his helmet. That turned the talk up a few notches and it was already pretty high. This new issue was lumped in with the foot issue as the cause for his absence from camp, with some reports even suggesting he was threatening to retire if he didnt get to wear his old Schutt Air Advantage helmet. Gruden didnt buy into the talk of Browns supposed retirement and his agent Drew Rosenhaus said flat out that those reports had no legitimacy and that the seriousness of his grievance was way overblown. It was just getting healthy. The helmet wasnt a focal point as much as the feet were, said Rosenhaus. I mean he had a major injury. And this is not a typical injury for a football team to deal with so he was off seeing an expert to get lasers. Its different treatment for frostbite and a burn like that. It wasnt his intent to leave the team for the time that he did, hes always had a good line of communication with the club and the Raiders and the NFL are actually working very closely with us right now to get the helmet resolved.Neither Rosenhaus nor Brown are saying exactly how the injury occurred because they could pursue legal action against the cryogenic therapy company where the injury was suffered.Brown is not ready to practice yet, but he showed up late into practice Tuesday just to clear the air a little bit.Im extremely grateful to be here, said Brown. Just dealing with a lot of adversity. Im excited to be back and see my teammates and get in the groove of things shortly.Thats as close to a timeline as Brown would give as to when he will return to practice, adding that he feels A lot better. Working towards 100%. Its been a process with the feet. Any time you got a lot of blisters and its hard to change direction and cut and run and do what I do naturally, but Im going to start from the good foot, Im been away getting a lot of work, so Im excited to just move forward.Among the reports out there with regard to Brown was that he had not been in contact with the team. Gruden didnt deny this when I asked him about it after the game Saturday, and he has long said he didnt know what the details or severity of Browns injury was. Rosenhaus is saying they had constant contact with the team and Gruden is saying he knew all along where Brown was and what was going on with him.Weve had a pretty good understanding of the foot injury, said Gruden. We know where hes been, we know what hes been through, were thrilled to have him back and obviously we think hes a great player and were anxious to get the men together and get rolling. The fans will obviously want to believe everything that was said today that everything has been fine and all the media reports were fake news, but there was plenty of truth in those reports. Even if some of them may have veered into hyperbole bordering on misinformation. The helmet thing was very likely overblown. As frustrated as Brown may have been, theres no way he was going to retire over this. He may have tried to sneak his old helmet onto the field, but whatever. The timing of the appeal hearing was a coincidence with regard to the mystery of his prolonged absence.Hopefully hell be back on the field soon, but the injury was the reason that he was away from the team, one. Two, the helmet is something weve been working on for months, said Rosenhaus. And weve been working with the NFL and working with the Raiders to figure out a solution. They think theyve found that solution. Brown can use a bit of a loophole by obtaining a Schutt Air Advantage helmet that has been manufactured in the last ten years. According to Rosenhaus, theyve found several.Weve located helmets that have been manufactured within the last ten years so that eliminates the ten year rule. Now we have to get those reconditioned and then we have to get them certified by NOCSAE and then the NFL has to approve it. So Kolton Miller Jersey , its all reasonable. The NFL says eliminating the use of his old helmet is a safety issue. Rosenhaus and Brown say NOT using it is a safety issue. Its about the visibility the old helmet provides. Not for catching the ball, but for catching the defender bearing down on him.Hes comfortable with this helmet, he can see people trying to hit him, take his head off, knock him out, knock him out of the game, said Rosenhaus. Its a very physical game, especially for a superstar like Antonio and having the proper helmet not only to protect you physically, but to also be able to use it visually was important to him. Thats the only thing hes played in.The most important thing about all of this is it sounds like it will all be resolved soon. Gruden finally said with confidence that Brown will be ready for the season from his foot injury something he was unwilling to say before and AB is resolving his helmet grievance as well. Alls well that ends well and it sounds like this drama will be winding down shortly and everyone can get back to focusing on preparing for the upcoming season. Follow @LeviDamien This is an objectively good looking group of undrafted free agents."You may or may not have found reasons to criticize the Raiders 2019 draft class. But theres a whole like to like in the group of prospects they landed as free agents. As many as four of the Raiders undrafted free agent additions were definitely draft worthy. The rest have characteristics that make them worthy of a shot, especially the competition on the offensive line.Tevon Coney, LB, Notre DameThere were projections as high as the fourth round for Coney. Several, in fact. That seemed to be where many thought he would go. Some even had him ranked ahead of teammate Drue Tranquill who was picked in the fourth round. This is the first time that Crosby has faced competition in training camp since 2013, when he fought off Georgio Tavecchio to win the job, leading to the best season of his career. However, there are signs that the Packers are not yet satisfied with their place-kickers. Over the weekend, the Baltimore Ravens traded kicker/punter Kaare Vedvik to the Minnesota Vikings, reportedly in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick. However, the Packers were reportedly one of three other teams that were in contact with the Ravens about Vedvik, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Tomasson phrased his reporting as these teams wanted to trade for Vedvik Brett Favre Color Rush Jersey , suggesting that general manager Brian Gutekunst was interested enough in Vedvik to give up a late-round draft pick though he was seemingly out-bid by Vikings GM Rick Spielman.Predictably, the Chicago Bears were in that group as well, along with the Packers and the New York Jets.Vedvik is a Norwegian native who moved to the United States as an exchange student in high school. He played college football at Marshall, where he went 10 of 16 on field goals and 41-for-42 on PATs in his one season as the Thundering Herds place-kicker, where he also punted for two seasons. However, he spent the 2018 season on the NFI list following an assault in Baltimore just before the NFLs final cut-down date. The Packers front office has a strong connection to the Ravens through Milt Hendrickson, their new Director Football Operations. Hendrickson was employed in Baltimore for the last several years and would have had a first-hand look at Vedvik during his rookie offseason in 2018.If the Packers are indeed looking around at other kickers, it does not bode well for Ficken, who kicked a pair of PATs in the Packers preseason opener last Thursday. Furthermore https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Paul-Hornung-Jersey , it would seem to indicate a continued interest in moving on from Crosby this offseason, as the veteran carries a $4.85 million salary cap hit in 2019. It is plausible that the Packers could be on the lookout for kickers on the waiver wire following final cuts this year if Crosby and Ficken fail to impress significantly in training camp. The Packers put a premium on youth and athletic ability again on Thursday night, selecting Michigan edge rusher Rashan Gary with the 12th overall pick and trading up from 30 to 21 for Maryland safety Darnell Savage, Jr.Both players are just 21 years old and both are exceptional athletes at their positions, so the picks make sense. Furthermore, both are versatile players Bart Starr Jersey , capable of lining up in multiple different spots. The challenge now is for Mike Pettine and his defensive coaching staff to figure out how and where to play them.As round two begins, the teams focus will likely shift over to the offense. There are several talented pass-catchers and offensive linemen available, which could benefit the Packers. Both teams are floating around a make-or-break part of their season, and the winner will take that extra step closer to the playoff hunt. For Colts fans, Mike Vrabel and his Tennessee squad head to Indy in a battle of the second and third place teams in the AFC South. With an Indianapolis win, the two teams will move to 5-5 on the season as they try to inch closer to one of the final wild card spots. Andy Reid leads Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City squad up against wonder-kid Sean McVay, Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams.
